St Augustine’s Priory, the leading Catholic independent school for girls in Ealing, is pleased to announce that it will be reintroducing boys into the Prep and Pre-Prep School (Reception to Year 6) with boys progressing naturally from the early years of the school, Nursery and Reception.
This exciting decision marks the return of boys to the school’s Early Years provision, a feature of St Augustine’s Priory many years ago. The school is proud to return to this co-educational model for the Prep years, responding to the needs of local families while maintaining the school’s unwavering commitment to its Catholic values and high standards of education, interweaving outstanding pastoral care and academic excellence.
“We are delighted to welcome boys back into our Preps and Pre-Preps,” says Headteacher Mrs Macallister “The early years are a crucial time for development, and we look forward to offering boys the benefit of our exceptional teaching, broad and balanced curriculum and unique, expansive outdoor space. This decision is in keeping with our long tradition of nurturing children’s individual holistic growth, while continuing to offer single-sex education in our Senior School, where girls continue to receive a bespoke education tailored to their needs.”
Chair of the Governing Board, Matthew Bartlett added “Reintroducing boys into our preparatory school expands upon the initiatives that have already benefitted our girls, fostering a more diverse and inclusive environment. Exposure to a wider range of perspectives enhances cognitive skills, critical thinking, creativity, and cultural awareness, enriching students’ personal growth. At the same time, our senior school will remain single-sex, as data shows it positively impacts academic performance and development. This balance ensures we offer both diversity and academic excellence.”
