Pupils have secured places at leading Russell Group universities, including Manchester, Birmingham, and York. Their choices reflect a school culture that celebrates individuality and diversity. This year, courses range from Biomedical Sciences to Psychology, Environmental Engineering and Geosciences, Physics and Astronomy, Music Performance, Sociology, Business and Management, and Digital Marketing.
Mr Norman, Headmaster at The Royal School commented:
“As a proudly inclusive school, The Royal is academically ambitious for all its pupils and this year is consistent with its excellent academic record. We wish them well as they move on, well prepared, for the next chapter in their lives.”
All-rounder Millie, Head Girl, has secured a place to read Biomedical Sciences at the University of Manchester. Millie has been a valued member of our school community since joining in Year 5. Her debut drama performance in Grease in Year 7 sparked her love of drama, leading to her taking on lead roles in numerous productions, including Dorothy in the sell-out production of The Wizard of Oz. Millie also completed an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), where she researched DNA technology, a process she found incredibly useful in learning to manage her time while revising for her 3 A levels. "I am excited about the future and realising my ambition of practising biomedicine in the army, a career I was introduced to during one of the many insightful Royal School Lectures."
Harry joined The Royal School in Year 9 and studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths at A level. He is taking a year out and intends to pursue his love of science by working in a research lab before going to university to read Physics in 2025. He began flexi-boarding in Year 12, moving to full-time Boarding in Year 13. He speaks fondly of his boarding experience: "Boarding helped me stay motivated and become more independent. I couldn't shy away from my responsibilities at school. It was beneficial to have subject specialists as boarding tutors too, this really supported me with my studies. Additionally, weekend revision and study skills workshops helped me focus on my A level subjects."
Georgie joined the school in Year 7. Throughout her time here, Georgie excelled as a music performer, taking on leading roles in numerous concerts both within and outside the school. Today, Georgie leaves us with an impressive set of results and has secured a place at her first-choice university to read Psychology. "My teachers and the entire Royal community have been incredibly supportive during my time here. It is such a welcoming and friendly environment. The small class sizes and knowledgeable teachers help everyone achieve their full potential.”
Royal Sixth formers benefit from small classes, dedicated and specialist teaching staff, flexi boarding and exemplary pastoral care in a happy and close-knit pupil community.
