St Augustine’s Priory is delighted that a new author has emerged from Year 4 at this Ealing Catholic Independent school for girls. At nine years of age, Miranda Sofia has just published her first book, ‘Poems and Stories for Little People (written by one)’, a collection of her vivid and imaginative work which ranges from light-hearted tales about friendship and family life to intriguing poetry about the world around her.
Miranda’s lessons have often been the inspiration behind her poems and stories, such as her work on fables, the structure of poetry and even science topics. The talks which visiting authors have paid to the school have also played a part, as they have stimulated Miranda’s belief that she, too, could be an author.
Ms Keane, Head of Preps and Pre-Preps at St Augustine’s Priory, had this to say, “‘Poems and Stories for Little People’ is a wonderful achievement, we are all immensely proud of Miranda”.
‘Poems and Stories for Little People’ is beautifully illustrated and filled with tales and poems, which will delight. From stories such as ‘The Magical Christmas Tree’ and ‘Rachel and the Sorcerers’ Duel’ to poetry such as ‘Dancing with the 4 times tables’ and ‘Flamingoes’, there is something in this book to enchant all ages.
Miranda’s achievement at so young an age is an inspiration to writers everywhere and, as St Augustine’s Priory believes, ‘Our Girls Will Change the World’. Miranda has made a great start!
Miranda is the youngest author to be published by Wisdom House Publishing and ‘Poems and Stories for Little People (written by one)’ is available from Amazon and Barnes & Noble in three formats: e-book, paperback and hardback.
