On Friday 28th April, Box Hill School’s staff and students embarked on Miles For Maggie’s – a student-led initiative.
It all started when the Charity Committee visited Maggie’s at the Royal Marsden, where they learnt about the cancer charity, and what they do to help support others.
Box Hill School smashed their target of 603 miles (the equivalent distance of John O’Groats to Lands End) and accumulated 875.60 miles for Maggie's through rowing, walking and running!
Furthermore, they have raised over £1,500 for Maggie's thanks to parents and our wider network. This will make a difference to Maggie’s; from exercise workshops, providing financial advice, to counsellors. This help is available to everyone who has been affected by cancer.
“The students were amazing during their PE sessions, tutor time and lunchtime. This is an AMAZING achievement and as a school we are proud!” – Mr Corydon Lowde, Headmaster.
Next year they anticipate to beat this year’s donations, as well as mileage.
