This term, The Royal Prep School was fortunate to have the Three Counties Church outreach team visit and turn the library into the most beautiful, peaceful, reflective space to explore the meaning of faith.
The space was designed to be a relaxing and tranquil environment for anyone who visited it, allowing time for reflection with quiet surroundings. The focus of the space this year was very topical and centred around remembering. There were 12 activities set up for the children to take part in, ranging from arts and crafts, like making bracelets and creating a large art piece by blowing paints, to acknowledging happy and sad memories using items to help ask questions and give thanks. Each station was decorated with comfy cushions, blankets, mood lighting and calming music to enhance the experience.
Each class (from Daycare to Year 6) had designated slots to visit with added time for any children who wanted to spend more time enjoying the space.
Dr Alexander, Director of Perp said, “It’s been really incredible to watch the pupils’ reactions as they look around, taking in the gentle, soft lights and different hands-on activities to provoke thought. It’s given us all a quiet space for reflection away from the hustle and bustle of life in school.”
Many thanks to the Three Counties Church team who helped make it all possible.
