The Board of Wisbech Grammar School are very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Barnaby Rimmer as the next Head of Wisbech Grammar School from September 2022. After an exhaustive search, Mr Rimmer, an Old Grammarian, and current Deputy Head Academic, was the unanimous choice selected from an extremely broad and highly competitive field.
The Board commented: “We are delighted to have appointed Mr Rimmer. He was the standout candidate who fully understands the WGS ethos and culture. We are confident that he will look to take the School forward in all areas in the years ahead, and will make sure WGS is a beacon for top class independent education both locally and regionally.”
Mr Rimmer said of his appointment “I feel immensely proud and privileged to be taking on the role of Headmaster at Wisbech Grammar School. I am looking forward to working with all stakeholders, especially the pupil and staff body, in continuing to drive the school forward."
He will be succeeding Mr Chris Staley, who leaves after 8 years at WGS and is taking on the new role of Principal and CEO at BKHS, a group of 5 independent senior and prep schools in Coventry.
