The Leweston Learner is a whole school approach to learning, which recognises that alongside teaching your children subject content and skills it is also important to teach them about how they learn and how they can approach their learning, helping them to develop a positive, growth mindset. The Leweston Learner is based around 5 key learning attributes – Adventurous, Confident, Creative, Inquisitive and Resilient.
During Years 5 to 8 pupils are encouraged to reflect on and record examples of these characteristics within the classroom and beyond, considering sport, music, drama, adventure and much more. Pupils have developed an electronic portfolio of evidence and have then submitted for either a Bronze, Silver or Gold award. Silver diploma pupils have presented in front of their tutors and Gold pupils in front of a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Certificates and Prizes will be awarded at the end of Summer Term.
Pupils have showcased a wide array of talents and achievements and have been thoughtful and reflective considering what they have learnt along the way.
