Surbiton High School pupil Beverley W demonstrated her exceptional talent and dedication on the badminton court, securing not one but two titles at the Surrey Badminton Championships. Beverley’s success includes clinching both the Surrey Badminton U12 Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles Championships during an impressive seven-hour stint of continuous play.
This recent triumph adds to Beverley’s already impressive collection of accolades, as she previously claimed the Surrey U12 Girls Singles Championship earlier in January 2024. With three championship titles now under her belt, Beverley has undoubtedly cemented her status as a formidable force in junior badminton.
Proudly acknowledging her daughter’s remarkable achievements, Rebecca L expressed “We are delighted to see her resilience, determination and teamwork developing along the way, especially in one of the deciding matches that she and her partner faced a very strong pair that they had to come back from a gap behind and then gradually caught up to win!”
Looking ahead, Beverley shows no signs of slowing down as she sets her sights on new challenges. Beverley has plans to compete in the All England games and maintain her representation of Surrey in the County League, where the Surrey U12 team currently holds the prestigious national ranking of number 3. Beverley will have the opportunity to play in the upcoming league finals in May 2024, where she will once again showcase her skills and determination on the badminton court.
In recognition of Beverley’s outstanding achievements and dedication to badminton, Surbiton High School extends its heartfelt congratulations to her. Congratulations, Beverley!
